2021: APANJ Had A Historic Year

Members:

As we close out 2021 let's reflect on the blessings this year brought the APANJ and its members. This year marked our busiest and most successful year in our nearly 50 year history. It culminated in spectacular fashion with our restoration of the Prosecutor's Part pension for ALL assistant prosecutors. Now, for the first time in over a decade, career APs and DCJ-DAGs once again will enjoy the same pension benefits as their senior colleagues. The positive impact of this change will be felt by APs and their families for decades to come. Likewise, our offices will now be able to retain experienced, skilled and diverse APs to meet the demands of today's criminal justice system. The APANJ is especially grateful to our bill's legislative sponsors, the Governor, and all of you for supporting us in the campaign. Well done!

Additional APANJ accomplishments in 2021:

  • Delivered over 1300 APANJ masks and sanitizers to all APs

  • Created APANJ Diversity & Inclusion Committee

  • Created NOVA, the first-ever transition assistance program for retiring APs

  • Produced Spring CLE (Moneyball)

  • Established APANJ Civic Organization, a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation

  • 1st-annual APANJ golf outing

  • 1st-annual APANJ Officer & Delegate Summit (Pt. Pleasant)

  • 2nd-annual Double Jeopardy Tournament

  • Achieved 100% annual dues participation for 2020

  • Testified before NJ Senate and Assembly Committees (Pros. Part)

  • Gained Governor's signature (Pros. Part, 09/24/2021)

  • Increased APANJ website traffic by 1,250% year-over-year

  • Welcomed 9,700 different visitors to our website in 2021

  • Responded to hundreds of membership emails, calls, and inquiries

I am incredibly proud and grateful to have served alongside my fellow officers and trustees of the APANJ during this historic year. Your dedication and volunteer service to APs statewide is admirable. Thank you!

I wish everyone a happy and healthy new year!

See you in '22!
