On behalf of my fellow officers and trustees I am proud to announce we created the APANJ Diversity & Inclusion Committee. For far too long the legal profession, including prosecutors' offices, have suffered from a lack of lawyers from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and ethnicities. The victims and communities we serve to protect are amongst the most diverse in the country and will benefit even more when more of us are from those communities. This committee provides a vehicle for our members to do their part.

Co-chaired by Trustees Stacey Zyriek (Union) and Gary Donatello (Bergen), the mission of APANJ Diversity & Inclusion Committee is to support initiatives that raise public awareness of the need for more diverse prosecutors and afford people of all backgrounds to obtain a legal education and pursue a career in criminal prosecution in New Jersey. Promoting diversity and inclusion within the criminal justice system enables prosecutors and their offices to continue to build trust with the people and communities we serve, as well as the victims for whom we advocate.
