Wellness & Resiliency Committee Announcement

Members:

As assistant prosecutors, taking small steps each day towards our well-being is an important aspect of our lives and our practice. APANJ and the newly formed Wellness and Resiliency Committee are committed to supporting programming that directly relates to this mission.

Specifically, we aim to provide all APs and DAGs with wellness and resiliency programs, supporting mental health awareness, providing peer-to-peer support, as well as other professional guidance, training, and education.

Through a partnership with the NJ Lawyer’s Assistant Program (NJLAP), the NJ State Bar Association Special Committee on Lawyer Well-being, the Young Lawyer’s Division, and the NJ Office of the Public Defender, APANJ is proud to announce a four-part webinar, “Changing Your Mind About Stress."

Sessions will include the practice of relaxation exercises and meditation techniques. They will be led by Susan Wilk of Focused Mind Dynamics LLC, a past practicing attorney and certified meditation instructor.

The sessions will be held weekly Wednesday June 17- July 8 3:45 PM - 5 PM.

  • Week 1: Meditation and Relaxation – What is it and how do I get there?

  • Week 2: Meditation Techniques – Your Toolkit

  • Week 3: Whose Mind is it anyway?

  • Week 4: Living from your highest potential.
