All Officers are Re-Elected after Historic Vote!
In the first-ever online APANJ election, APs resoundingly re-elected the entire executive board and board of trustees. Marked by record-setting voter turnout, APs from every county voted to stay the course set nearly two-years ago when President David Calviello (Bergen County) and his team came into office.
“We couldn’t be more proud of how far this association has come in the last 20-months due to the hard work and dedication of the officers with whom I have the pleasure to serve alongside,” said David V. Calviello, President of the APANJ. “This victory is especially satisfying because so many of our peers voted for us to continue our progress and keep up the momentum we created. We can’t wait to continue advancing our agenda - reinstating the Prosecutor-Part into the pension for ALL APs - and actively serving our memberships through our various committees.”
This year marked the first time the APANJ conducted its election online and in the spring. Previously they took place in the fall during the annual CPANJ convention in Atlantic City, but were marked by very low turnout. Today’s results show that 583 APs submitted online ballots, resulting in a voter turnout rate of 70%!
“The fact that so many assistant prosecutors engaged with us in this election shows that our rebranding of this association has reinvigorated our membership,” Calviello said. “Everyone should be proud of where this association is headed and with our members behind us, there is nothing we can’t do together!"
