APANJ Golf Outing Scores Big on News of Senate Vote

Golf Outing Participants are Elated on News of the Senate Vote!

MANALAPAN - Members had something extra special to celebrate Monday on the links at Battleground Country Club as news of the Senate's 37-3 vote in favor of the APANJ-backed pension bill was announced. APs from across the State were cheering between putts as news of the Senate's vote spread. "It was the icing on the cake," said APANJ President David Calviello, remarking on the perfect timing of the critical vote with the APANJ's 1st Annual Golf Outing/Dinner. "As the cocktail hour got started, our bill's sponsor - Senator Joseph Lagana (Paramus) - came straight from the Senate floor and walked-in to a well-deserved standing ovation from the crowd. We couldn't have scripted a better ending to the outing," said Calviello.

Also featured during the dinner was a fitting tribute to one of the founders of the APANJ in 1973, former Passaic County Chief Assistant Prosecutor, the Honorable Ronald G. Marmo, J.S.C. (Ret.), who gave an inspirational address and remarked at the palpable impact the APANJ is having on the criminal justice system by supporting legislation that will be a "meaningful enhancement to that system - ensuring career prosecutors stay."
